NIT Jalandhar Admission Highlights

  • For NIT Jalandhar PhD admission, admission is conducted through Written Test followed by Presentation and Interview. All applicants should have at least 60% marks or CGPA of 6.5 in Bachelor’s Degree exam in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university to be eligible to apply for a PhD at the institute. Or, students having a Master’s Degree in appropriate branch of Sciences or any equivalent stream can apply.
  • For NIT Jalandhar admission in undergraduate level B.Tech courses, the selection is done based on JEE Main or JEE Advanced scores followed by JoSAA counselling. Also, candidates have a minimum of 60% marks in the qualifying examination or  Senior Secondary examination can apply.
  • For Postgraduate level M.Tech courses, candidates are admitted on the basis of GATE followed by CCMT counselling. All candidates must have a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 in Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant stream from a recognized university.

UG Course

To get admission in undergraduate B.Tech programme, the applicants must have Minimum 60% in the qualifying examination or 12th examination from any recognised board.

Candidate must have passed 12th examination with Mathematics, Physics and any one of the subjects from Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Biology. The final selection is conducted based on JEE Main or JEE Advanced scores followed by JoSAA counselling.

To get admission in postgraduate M.Tech course, the candidate must have 60% (CGPA 6.5) in Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology from a recognized university with a valid GATE score or Master’s Degree in appropriate branch of Sciences or equivalent and a valid GATE or UGC/CSIR fellowship. On the basis of GATE score followed by CCMT counselling the final selection will be done.

Doctoral Course

To secure a seat in PhD the willing candidates must have an M.Tech. / M.E.in relevant discipline along with a Bachelor degree. The final shortlisting is done based on written test followed by an interview.
